Todd Steed recently interviewed me alongside Paul Harrill, the writer/director of Something, Anything, about our experience of making a critically-acclaimed feature-length film in Knoxville, Tennessee for Knoxville Public Radio. The story can be downloaded from the Changing Course podcast on iTunes or streamed from WUOT radio in two parts:
Recent Press for SOME BEASTS
Some Beasts received a Special Jury Award for cinematography at its festival premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival. Shortly thereafter, the film screened at the Nashville Film Festival, where it garnered a 5-star review from Verite Film Magazine, which penned, "Taking on national obsessions fearlessly, this perceptively shot character study is also a major contribution to a lineage of American thought on nature and self-reliance."
The film continues to travel on the festival circuit; screenings will be listed on www.somebeasts.com.
SOME BEASTS - World Premiere at Dallas & Nashville
My second feature as producer, SOME BEASTS premieres in competition at the Dallas International and Nashville Film Festivals in April 2015.
SOME BEASTS is the debut feature of Dallas writer/director Cameron Bruce Nelson and stars Frank Mosley (UPSTREAM COLOR), Lindsay Burdge (A TEACHER), and Heather Kafka (PIT STOP).
This film was made possible with the generous support and partnership of the Austin Film Society, the Dallas Video Association, US-in-Progress, and the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP).
